For your delight - about 2 years of refurbishing flashes by in 3 mins. The latest from the time-lapse cameras inside and outside the all new St Georges Theatre in Great Yarmouth.

Have a peek and see just how far and how close this theatre is to opening it’s doors once again !

This text was written by participant Amy Brown during the 5 Ways creative writing workshops facilitated by artist/writer Bel Greenwood.

An extract of the text was developed into a large video projection that covered the hoarding and white temporary surround to the new St Georges Theatre in Great Yarmouth last September

Whilst out interviewing people in Great Yarmouth I’ve found that these starlings are regular as clock work. They begin to swarm at 5:30pm on the dot. I’m usually fighting the bite of the cold by this point so they serve as a good reminder to visit the Sunshine Cafe for a cuppa.

Great Yarmouth Autumn Winter 2011, a set on Flickr.I’m busy beginning the making of a new documentary film in Great Yarmouth for the THI project.
It will feature the musicians of the town playing in various locations.
Here are just a few of the possible spots so far. Imagine, a brass band playing in the Launderette!

A new stage is starting to appear in St Georges !

This incredible theatre space is really coming on leaps and bounds now and the builders are crawling all over it.

This is the latest bit of the long animation work shot from early January to the beginning of March 2012

Thought you might like to see how things are taking shape inside

I just thought I would share a very recent shot from inside the new St Georges Theatre last Friday afternoon.
This amazing incredible theatre space is really taking shape quickly inside now. All the internal scaffold is now down and the gallery areas look like the seats will be in place soon. I can see massive bunches of wiring for the lighting and the new stage is scheduled to rise up soon.

Here are two poster designs by Janet Tough, Joan Gowen and John George, all participants in the 5 ways workshops. These posters were designed, printed and displayed in a short run on the hoardings of the new St Georges Theatre in Great Yarmouth during the Out There festival in September 2011.

Participants felt it a great opportunity to on the one hand use posters to showcase ideas and themes generated in the workshop sessions and also  as a way of driving visitors to the THI website and increase awareness of the project in the local community.
